Yeah probably most of this social signaling stuff that translates into "I'm a culturally normal American" translates into a direct material benefit when networking

Well, sure, but there is evidence of discrimination on the employer end too (employers aren't supposed to even be able to ask about this when making decisions but obviously this is unenforceable) Fathers make more once they have kids, mothers make less
