For most people, the whole point of having movie critics is so they can see the movie for you and, if they give it a bad review, warn you not to bother spending your own money to see it That's their job, that's how it's supposed to work

If the critics gave scathing reviews to a movie and a bunch of people read those reviews and decided to see the movie anyway, the movie would have to be REALLY shitty to disappoint those people too Usually it isn't and so you see a higher audience score

Critics will see a movie regardless of interest because it's their job "Fans" go to see a movie FIRST if it looks interesting, and THEN they will most likely only leave a review if they feel passionately about it, good or bad Fan reviews are INHERENTLY biased
