I do think about how a lot of bad zoology was based on lazy scientists putting animals in wildly unnatural environments for their convenience and thinking this would get them useful data It's like reality TV

Put a bunch of random strangers who'd have absolutely no reason to interact with each other under normal circumstances in one big house and don't let them leave Find out what happens when they stop being polite and start getting real

I like to joke that if A/B/O people knew the animals that REALLY had that polymorphism were sponge lice they'd be less turned on, but then I brushed up against more than one kink scenario about anglerfish and at that point I fucking gave uphttps://twitter.com/AmeliaRoseWrite/status/1302780888795590656?s=20 …

Yeah I mean porn about a succubus or a vampire or whatever is obviously the anglerfish *metaphor* But then it turned out they wanted to make the concept disturbingly *literal* Including the part where the male is slowly absorbed by the female's body

Using traps to capture and study animals means you only animals that get trapped. Apparently they tend to be younger and more aggressive (but that might vary)

Yes. That pairs well: "It's like trying to study human society based on prison gangs"

I put my son in daycare w/ woman I went to HS w/. Picking up chatting I noticed her son was bullying a bit. Surprised she didn’t stop it. She said there’s a pecking order, they need to learn. I didn’t take my son back there
-
WTF?! This reminds me of teachers when I was young who excused bullying as "a normal part of growing up" I mean never mind that those actions would count as criminal harassment if they were adults....

While not applicable familial packs in the wild, A/B/O dynamics, once divorced from the stereotyped "omegaverse," *do* serve as a useful model for werewolf behavior. In this essay i will..

In the '80s I raised a captive-born female gray wolf for Idaho Fish and Game. Never once did I have to play the alpha-male with her. I have a rather extensive library on wolf behavior. Most of the authors adhere to the alpha-male concept because they didn't observe wild wolves.
