Italian singer Adriano Celentano released a song in the 70s with nonsense lyrics meant to sound like American English, apparently to prove Italians would like any English song. It was a hit, and resulted in this: THE GREATEST VIDEO I HAVE EVER SEEN.pic.twitter.com/B3mQWmQgXq

Fwiw, this isn't really an accurate representation of why Celentano wrote the song; in later interviews he insisted it wasn't intended to be a joke or novelty song

If anything, it's sort of the reverse - he'd done a previous album with an environmentalist theme and critics had accused him of letting the message overtake the music so he wrote a hit song that by its nature has no message

It's sort of a tribute to Elvis and Bob Dylan and other American artists who helped shape pop culture in Italy without the majority of people being able to actually understand what they were saying

Just a query. Do people outside Italy understand Dylan’s diction?
