So they're very unlikely to be sedevacantists who believe a new Pope must be ordained but they're also unlikely to actually care that much what the Pope thinks in the first place They are much more open to the borderline-heretical belief in special revelation

... Oh god it's like the Catholic equivalent of the prosperity gospel, isn't it? (The prosperity gospel makes me think I must be some sort of (UCC-style) Christian or SOMETHING deep down, because I don't think it would make me SO FUCKING ANGRY if I weren't. )

I mean, I believe in prosperity gospel too, it's just that I think its verity proves God is fundamentally evil, thereby rendering the entire question of theodicy a nonsensical fool's errand
