Why do we remove kids from abusive homes? Why don't we remove the abusive adults, and pay good people a good salary to take care of such kids until the parent is capable of taking care of their kids. Oh right. We don't want to pay for that as a society for some reason.

I'm just not sure what you want to change from the current system exactly? Unless it's physically removing the adults from the home as opposed to the kids ...Which is hard because, well, the adults own the house/the lease

I don’t propose any answers, but the flaws in the system are worrisome

The history of CPS and foster care is like a pendulum Everyone wants to err on the side of parent/child reunification and minimizing disruption until there's a scandal about CPS letting a parent get away with grotesque abuse for years

So then the pendulum swings the other way and CPS gets really aggressive and harsh until there's another scandal about a parent who lost their kids for bullshit (often racist/classist) reasons, and/or a case of grotesque abuse by foster/adoptive parents
