Right. That makes sense. Because Taylor's the only person who can play piano

It's not even her signature instrument! That's like having Ringo in a movie and having him play the triangle!

I think maybe she was just a fan of the book so they slipped her in for a cameo. Happens all the time with high-profile adaptations.

That would make a lot of sense. And maybe it wouldn't bother me if the rest of the movie was good. But it just makes for a very strange moment in an already bonkers ass movie

She was trying to sort of delicately ease her way into acting during this time period, I figured the feelers they sent out about her being Eponine ended up with everyone deciding that would be "too distracting" at the time

Oh ha ha she's also family friends with the screenwriter who did the adaptation, and apparently the screenwriter's cousin, who is now an actor, was her first boyfriend in school

Lol and said cousin is Tobin Mitnick, who played the lead role in Hollidaysburg by Anna Martemucci, the dueling film against Shane Dawson's Not Cool on the 2014 reality show The Chair CC

Ha ha oh that makes sense because Taylor Swift is from West Reading, PA and they were talking about The Chair filmed in Pittsburgh and they were trying to cast from local Pennsylvania talent What a small world

They'd been saying they were super worried that their version of the movie simply wouldn't work at all without an actor capable of carrying Scott's role (i.e. hot enough) and were despairing of finding a Pennsylvania unknown until Tobin auditioned He does in fact carry the role

So good job 7th-grade Taylor I guess, too bad it didn't work out long-term I guess there was some other girl who wore high heels and short skirts and the day never came when he woke up and found what he'd been looking for was there the whole time

(And in Shane Dawson's version of the movie he casts *himself* as Scott Ugh, the sheer confidence)
