See this is something I can live with. Acknowledging a possible unintended side effect and downside. This is exactly why Denmark and Sweden did not mandate them. And they are doing not too bad with their approach looking at the entire year 2020.

It really really upsets me that masks have become this symbolic thing the COVID deniers attack Masks are by far the lesser inconvenience here, if "masks don't work" then the immediately necessary step is to shut down all public spaces of any kind

Or actual smarter management of peoples movement. Proposal in Sweden was to have certain hours for elderly and risk groups for shopping for instance. Have the same response/measures for all risk groups breaking with legal principles of proportionality hence the courts rulings.
