What's the reason for not just using A-Z?
-
You mean just saying the letters A-Z? Our names for the letters aren't great for everyday conversation, they sound too similar and are easily confused for each other ("Bee" rhymes with "dee" and "pea", etc.) It's why we have the NATO spelling alphabet (alpha-bravo-charlie)

We already have Theta.

The last and -only- other time we used Greek letters for storms, Zeta, which has already come and gone, was a freak occurrence that popped in right on December 30 right before the deadline and didn't dissipate until January.https://xkcd.com/1126/
