The fact that Twitter makes tweets from people who've blocked you look identical to tweets from people on protected mode is really really bad design especially if you're in spaces where people feel vulnerable a lot

I think they're of two minds about this, like there's people who've complained that outright seeing "You've been blocked by X" tends to trigger harassers more than just subtly shutting them out

The ideal block behavior is Facebook's, where a block looks identical to an account being deleted or never having existed That said, the way people use Twitter is different enough from Facebook this may be unfixable (you're never gonna just be unaware a big account blocked you)
