It's especially interesting when the original lyrics are trying to make it ambiguous whether they're talking about a real person or a metaphor, so by changing it you're suddenly making it clear you think it's about sex/romance and not God or whatever

That song bothered me for so long because I originally interpreted the "probably"s in the lyrics as uncertainty that the guy was cheating at all [vs the intended meaning of speculation as to how exactly the night's activities were going]
