I've been struggling with something for over a year: It's time to admit I still have no idea exactly what "bomboclaat" means or how it's used.

The actual meaning of "bomboclaat" is literally "bum-cloth", i.e. "asswipe", a harsh obscene expletive The way it's used online is as a random word someone picked as a new synonym for "scopa tu manaa"

"Scopa tu manaa" is a genuinely nonsense phrase from a hit pop song in Ghana that went viral As a random meme thing, people started putting the phrase on totally random pictures or videos and posting them without context

As a result of people doing this and causing threads to erupt where everyone gave their own reactions to the captioned photo, "sco pa tu manaa" has now evolved into a phrase that just means "please give your thoughts on this", as has "bomboclaat"

The funny thing being that "sco pa tu manaa" genuinely had no meaning before this while the "bomboclaat" thing is a ticking time bomb for anyone who says it to an actual Jamaican person
