Also, I completely agree with the argument that this doesn't go far enough to actually fix the problem But unlike the healthcare wars I do not see any fucking possible argument that doing this will "get in the way of" or "sap the political will to" forgive more debt later

It’s almost as if Biden is capable of giving consideration to positions of the progressive wing of the party and elevating those he thinks have popular appeal and merit.

I'd much prefer Biden to focus on these kinds of reforms. Small and manageable that have an immediate impact. The problem with the Online Left is they want simple fixes that ignore the complex world. And massive ones that require near dictatorial power to implement.

They should be pleased. They’ve successfully pushed centrist Biden further to the Left, and he’s pursuing a long held progressive goal! Instead I detect resentment that he’s “stolen” their idea. (I stress, they’re a minority, but it still amazes/depresses me)
