The evidence is in fact pretty strong that the percentage of the elderly in this country living in institutional group homes is high enough that no "lock down the elderly" policy can possibly work

BS. This is so defeatist. One example: We can change work rules so HC workers arent working in multiple facilities. Provide $ if we need to. Ask these HC workers to lay low in the interim. Again, provide relief if required.

There are no silver bullets but there is a plan via a series of small ball moves. And all are more likely to succeed than total lockdown of entire populations.

This virus spreads like wildfire and if you aren't doing genuine centralized quarantine - which your plan is not - then one person "laying low" while doing nothing to generally flatten the curve is worthless

It spreads "even if" my man. Even if. The notion that we are going back into central lockdown til Spring/summer is bonkers. Period.

The slower it spreads the fewer people die, it's simple math

The fewer *vulnerable* people it spreads to the less death. Hence the focus there. This isn't hard. The idea is to *focus*.

Everyone is potentially vulnerable and everyone who is more vulnerable ends up interacting at some point with less vulnerable people

Again, are you going to pay to move all the vulnerable people into strictly enforced quarantine housing

Not needed. And yet, is this harder than populatuon lockdown? Come on, man.

It's true that no "No peeing" policy at the pool can possibly stop *everyone* from peeing in the pool But it works a lot better than putting up a sign saying "Pee all you want!" then "If pee bothers you, try making a little pee-free section with these handheld plastic panels"

Also, y'know, provide toilets metaphorically.
