If RBG had retired and the seat stayed vacant because Harry Reid didn't have the stones to nuke the filibuster and McConnell did, then the seat going to a Republican would be Harry Reid's fault But that's not what happened, and what actually did happen is Ginsburg's fault

And Ginsburg's description of her reasoning in this article is exactly the attitude that's so frustrating and that's shared by so many other liberals in high places Like it's all about her quality as a justice and that she shouldn't have to step aside for someone less good

Republicans did block Merrick Garland, but in 2016, having won control of the Senate in 2014. Prior to that, there was a Democratic majority. Due to the filibuster, Republicans COULD have blocked a nomination in 2011-2014, but only if Senate leadership let it happen by choice.
