Honestly the longer I think about it the harder it is not to be pissed at RBG for not retiring in 2013 Like the nicest thing you can say about her decision is she was wildly overoptimistic

I agree with you for sure. I just get frustrated with retrospective that does nothing. yes. She should have retired. 100%. But she didn't and we're all paying for it, and it will stain her legacy. But this kind of meta-analysis doesn't help much at this point.

I think it matters because Justice Breyer may be facing a similar decision very soon, and depending on EXACTLY how the Senate shakes out, there should possibly be pressure on him to retire.
