They want the schlubbiest possible male body so the audience can immediately empathize with the character's overwhelming dysphoria Same with Jack Black in Jumanji

I'm given to understand that cis people are incapable of understanding why these kinds of fee-fees should be actionable and that the adult thing to do would be to cope with it and be a man

Well, I mean Both in The Hot Chick and Jumanji it's a matter of some urgency for the girl to get back in her real body

I'm just laughing at the idea of cis people pretending not to be able to comprehend dysphoria when there's always these sorts of little hints that they find it horrific

That's why it's kind of weird that they made the decision to just have Clive-as-Jessica as a minor side plot in The Hot Chick, and establish that after the initial shock, Clive is fine with being a woman because he's such an attractive woman

I do kind of wonder about this idea that as soon as the Butcher realizes he's a girl now he immediately does much better at dressing and acting sexy than the real Millie ever did Like he gets his makeup perfect on the first try

Hear me out. Most girls wear makeup and dress in order to fit in with other women, not be as sexy as possible, so it makes sense to me that as soon as a man is in a woman's body, he's going to be as sexy as possible because he isn't grasping the social function of makeup/clothes.

Well, that's kind of like what The Hot Chick was like (he immediately decides that because he's a hot girl he's going to make easy money as a stripper) The guy in Freaky is quite a bit smarter and is intentionally trying to become a popular girl so he can kill people

Anyway I'm less criticizing his choices of how to dress, which make enough sense within the universe of the movie, and more how quick a study he is in terms of executing those choices

That's the kind of mean joke at Milly's expense, that the Butcher has spent most of his life as a creepy loner serial killer dude and yet the instant he takes over her life as a high school girl he's far more successful at it than she was
