There is a profound and fundamental difference between righteous anger at injustice that prevents us all from flourishing as we deserve and the gleeful embrace of a hate junkie.

Reminds me of the great Gaiman quote about Pratchett; that a man often thought of as a "jolly little elf" was driven largely by anger at the state of the world, but that anger was disguised by his genial tone. Not only is anger natural and healthy, it needn't *feel* negative.

Alexander Cockburn famously had as his litmus test question for interns he hired at Counterpunch, "Is your hate pure?" He told a story about asking this question to Ed Miliband and Miliband sputtering "I don't -- I've never hated anyone!"
