Even leaving aside that it's Donald Trump running it, this event was obvious bad news from the beginning They had this handful of buses shuttling these people in over the course of TEN HOURS, they were waiting in line for ages, it was OBVIOUSLY going to go south come nightfall https://twitter.com/justkelly_ok/status/1321731717304971264 …

ANYONE with any sense should've looked at this and been like "Hey if it takes this long to get IN to the event, what's gonna happen when it ends and everyone needs to get OUT, all at once" If this actually were just a concert or something it'd be lawsuit time

Anyway it's Trump, so he just wasted a bunch of taxpayer money commandeering all these first responders and city buses to rescue his cult followers, and it's just going to be a forgotten drop in the bucket amid all his other wrongdoing

I think it's an amazing metaphor. It was three miles. Three. Younger fitter people could have jogged to their cars and driven back to help the others, shuttling car loads of people and getting the older people warm. If they were able to think of others and organize. But no.

I don't think there were all that many younger fitter people in the audience, looking at the general demographics of Trump rallies

I mean only takes a one or two to grab a car, drive back and load up more drivers to go get those people's cars, repeat. Few iterations of that you got a huge bunch of people. Using exponential growth for good instead of virus spreading calcs!

There isn't that much space on the access road for that many cars, that's why they had to be shuttled in by bus in the first place
