I think I agree that the litmus test at this point is "I love trans women and I want there to be more trans women" Plenty of people go as far as "I love trans women" and then stop What they won't say is they mean it like "I love cancer patients" or "I love poor people"https://twitter.com/Nymphomachy/status/1320513698692272131 …

And they get to live in that limbo calling themselves "allies" while working against trans women's existence because they ultimately think of that existence as tragic and pitiful I mean, gosh, you wouldn't want more people to have cancer You wouldn't want more people to be poor

And there's just so much of this bullshit people wear as thick camouflage and throw up as a cloud of chaff in these debates I wish people would just force the issue, heighten the contradictions If you support trans women, you should want there to be more trans women

Are people being supportive of trans men? I must have missed it. I agree that there's a fixation on demonizing trans women but I think there's also this accompanying fear that we have to save our "girls" from wanting to take T bc being female is too hard or w/e

Yeah but
@Nymphomachy is talking specifically about transmisogyny, which has a different, violent flavor to it than transphobia in general0 replies 0 retweets 3 likes -

Sure, there's stuff that's unilaterally applicable, never implied otherwise It's also broadly true though that trans women face much more violent and aggressive social consequences for losing the HRT race against puberty than trans men do Which is why I'm talking transmisogyny

JK Rowling probably does hates trans men in some sense but she never so gleefully describes a trans man in her novels with such withering contempt as she describes the "big hands" and "prominent adam's apple" of trans women in her novels

JKR has come very close to just straight up saying she's an embittered closeted trans man who needs validation she made the right choice
