I have never even been asked to "serve" on the board of a major charity so it's like my refusal to do so was somehow selfish Maybe if my father had been a baronet it'd be different

No its because you're a nobody that wouldn't have the connections to find wealthy donors

Well yeah, and if I were it would be a great way to get a salary and constant PR for being a wealthy person who hangs out with wealthy people all day Man, what a sacrifice that would be, so much harder and more unpleasant than my life now, right

Also, you're confused still You're talking about actually working at a charity as the president or a high level officer The board of directors doesn't even do that work, the board of directors has meetings with the president to discuss how well they're doing at that job

Sitting on the board of things, whether it be of a for-profit company or a nonprofit org, is in theory a position for only the most enlightened, thoughtful and wise among us, being dedicated monitors of the actions of CEOs and presidents and keeping them in line

In practice it is well known that it is one of the most bullshit jobs in the universe of high paying bullshit jobs Getting all this money and prestige for going to like four meetings a year and voting "Yes" when asked if you think business is doing ok

Anyway whatever, I'm being unfair Nicholson isn't a typical do-nothing seat-filling aristocrat, she takes initiative, she does the work She does stuff like found a relief org for her adopted country of Iraq, exhort the UK to invade Iraq, then ask for donations to rebuild Iraq

For a 'professional feminist' why do you always seem to target women Chu?

It seems that way to you because that's your whole strategy as a movement - put up women as figureheads, keep all the attention on them, weaponize "white women's tears" and pretend men on your side and (cis) women opposing you don't exist

It's why everyone is trying to forget Glinner as fast as they can now that they have a more famous and wealthier celebrity backer with a uterus
