It is the year 2020 and people are out here saying that the "bad intel" about Saddam's WMDs was somehow a big plausible misunderstanding and none of the salesmen of the war did anything shady Good fucking Lord

I knew someone maybe 10-years after the Iraq war who legit thought we *found* the WMD after we invaded. Like, there were WMD and we found them.

We didn't find any! The UN inspectors went in and found nothing. The US and UK invaded anyway.

So how is that The Baroness's fault? How is she responsible for the decision?

There was never any credible evidence of WMDs, but she testified about there being evidence anyway, claiming she had it, and her evidence was part of the justification. Unless she's dumb and gullible as hell, she knew what she was doing, and she bears some of the responsibility.

She handed over information and stared she believed her sources were credible.

That's nice. Even if it's true (and I don't believe it), it means she isn't trustworthy.

Yeah, pretty much. At best, she had bad sources she believed wholeheartedly and, as such, still bears some responsibility for triggering the war in Iraq. Even if she knew if the sources were valid or not, *she's still partially responsible*.

That is a really convoluted way to apportion blame. The lesson to is all is to not pass any information in our possession, because it may be wrong. Meanwhile the OP voted for UK to go to war.
