Rather depends on the circumstances, but it may be. Say if they're teaching with sex dice, and pushing the idea of "enthusiastic consent" or giving kids books that suggest a six year old can enjoy giving head.

Pushing the idea of enthusiastic consent? So let me get this straight... you think people should have sex when one or more parties doesn't consent? What is WRONG with you?

Are you stupid or pretending to be stupid? Children can't provide consent, no matter how enthusiastic they are about it.

One of the issues here is that "consent" applies to *all* forms of physical boundaries, not just sex Part of "enthusiastic consent" is teaching kids that it's wrong to touch another person at all without their consent, even "innocent" kissing or hugging or play-fighting

Certain adults seem to react very negatively to this Not in the direction that would make sense -- "Kids can't consent" and therefore kids can't touch anyone or be touched ever But that "hugging is harmless" and therefore nonconsensual hugs are just fine

There's been a LOT of discussion about how adults casually violating kids -- "Now I know you're not a hugger, but still!" "Jimmy, don't be rude to Grandma, give her a hug and kiss!" -- primes them for freezing up and being unable to articulate consent in sexual situations later

And apparently the anti-"enthusiastic consent" people refuse to believe this narrative and think by even bringing the word "consent" into being hugged and kissed by your cheek-pinching grandma we're perverting the innocence of childhood or whatever The disagreeement runs deep

This is relevant to this discussion why? Who is arguing this here?

If minors can't consent to sex, is there anything they can consent to? Can they consent to being touched, or hugged, or picked up off the ground?

Because you're out here saying "Minors can't consent" as this absolute rule and that has a lot of implications I know that if you want to pick an adult up bodily off the ground you have to have their consent and if you don't it's assault Is it okay to do that to a child

No, but being forced to give a hug teaches children they can’t say no. I’ve been giving my kid an option to say no to a hug since he was 2. He knows nobody can force him to do something he doesn’t want to do with his body.
