As much as I am pro-choice, many people are unsettled by abortion or by late abortions. They are entitled to that view. I will resist anyone who tries to make abortions illegal, but I wouldn't try to silence their view.

If what Arthur's doing is silencing, then so is what you're doing. Why are you trying to silence Arthur?

How so? He responded to my tweet and we disagree with each other on various points. How is that me trying to silence him exactly?

I dunno, but you said Arthur was trying to "Silence" Nicholson, through the same means, so far as I can tell.

Not really. I was making the point that people are entitled to air different views (which they are) but not to silence those they disagree with. Pretty much a generic statement.https://twitter.com/IDD64/status/1318468706910015489?s=20 …

In the context of a reply, it comes off as implying the person you are replying to IS attempting to silence their view. Otherwise, mentioning "silencing" people makes 0 sense and is a nonsequiter. Do you admit, then, that Arthur is not, in fact, silencing anyone?

My tweet was about dialogue rather than trying to stop dialogue by painting opposing viewpoints as "bad". AC went as far as saying EN should be tried for war crimes and other hyperbole, and has sworn at and insulted me, so I'm not finding him a paragon of democratic discourse.

The war crimes thing isn't hyperbole, she is directly responsible for some portion of the thousands of deaths from the Iraq War through lying to the UN and to the general public to generate a casus belli

As I said, I followed this at the time. I'm aware the evidence was given by EN *after* the fact in 2003. If you are seriously trying to tell me that EN is responsible for the Bush administration's lies about WMD, I'm just going to laugh at you and point.

She is responsible for selling the Bush administration's lies to the UK and helping reassure the US Congress that they wouldn't be going in alone but with international support And yes, she was one of the people who testified to Blix before the invasion began

Do you believe that she had cultivated secret relationships with nuclear scientists under Saddam's regime who just had her totally fooled and then conveniently vanished after the war, cause if so I've got a bridge to sell youhttps://www.politico.eu/article/mep-hands-blix-dossier-on-sites-linked-to-weapons-development/ …
