Anyone who was actually part of the movement to systematically deceive the public in the lead-up to the war should've been drummed out of public life, yes, and it's to the great shame of both the US and the UK that this did not happen

That said, it's not like Nicholson had any good ideas after the war either, she's a Tory piece of shit through and through, so there's no real moral dilemma here

Why are you trying to defend every single shitty thing she does "Oh, she didn't propose a wholesale abortion ban because she couldn't defend that position in debate" "Oh, she didn't unilaterally commit UK troops to the invasion because she didn't have the authority"

Because people are entitled to have different views to you - radical, I know. Even though I didn't support the Iraq War (without a UN resolution), many people did because of Hussein's abuse of human rights. They're entitled to that view just as I am to mine.

https://twitter.com/IDD64/status/1318468635720036353?s=19 … Except that's not what the war was sold on initially. It was sold, falsely, on Sadam providing material aid to terrorists. Then to a "preemptive strike" to stop Sadam's WMDs. Then to regime change for humanitarian reasons.

I didn't say it was. My point was that "many people did because of Hussein's abuse of human rights" not that everyone did or that it was the only reason. As with all wars, there are multiple causes, historical, political, socio-economic & so on.

The people who claimed to care about human rights were lying and they proved it when they came in to exploit the wartorn wreckage of the country with juicy redevelopment contracts handed out to their cronies As Nicholson did when she became Trade Envoy to Iraq under Cameron
