Replying to @mcashmanCBE @Baroness_Nichol
What a disgraceful way to respond to an offer of discussion, and how indicative of your disrespect for women as a political class.

Emma Nicholson should have gone on trial at the Hague for peddling lies to the British public to sell a war that killed hundreds of thousands The fact that she walks free is in and of itself more respect by far than she deserves

Wait, the Bush-led US administration sold that war to a Labour govt., with Blair as PM then, and somehow that's morphed to being the responsibility of Baroness Nicholson (an MEP at the time)? Wow.

Nicholson repeatedly testified in favor of intervention, and in fact had been a strident advocate for invading Iraq for *years* up to that point, starting in the 1990s, on "human rights" grounds (pushing the "Marsh Arab genocide" narrative) http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/2807821.stm …

Did you read that article, I wonder. Yes, it was part of her Human Rights brief in the European Parliament HR sub-cttee, as I recall. Strangely, Iranian people are entitled to human rights too. I followed all this closely at the time (even marching against the war). No-one ever

doubted Hussein's regime was abusive but it didn't have WMD or allied with Al-Qaeda. *BUT* UK joined the war based on US lies, so don't try to re-write history in such a risible fashion.

Nicholson enthusiastically provided support for those lies and continued to defend them a decade laterhttps://www.libdemvoice.org/emma-nicholson-writes-was-the-war-worth-it-a-resounding-yes-from-me-33733.html …

As did many, including an overwhelming majority of MPs. None of them are hounded out of public life, even though they authorised it on US lies. I remind you that EN wasn't an MP in the govt that took Britain to war. You are hounding her for her support of women and we know it.

No A lot of people voted for it after being convinced by those lies, and that's a stain on their record But not as big a stain as those who proactively went to the effort of building the case for war and seeking to convince others of it

That was Nicholson's whole mission in life when it came to Iraq, she has a whole narrative about how the US didn't finish the job in Gulf War I in 1991, she spent a *decade* demanding "humanitarian intervention" in the Gulf to overthrow Saddam

Arthur is unhinged to try and blame Emma for Blair and Campbell's failings. A truly desperate smear attempt
