Why should I expect less anonymity in someone else's avatar than in any random online image? Generally, the idea is that people who know you can identify you by sight and people who don't cannot.

I’m not sure that’s a fair assumption given the reverse search Arthur mentioned as being known by everyone and used by everyone.

This is the "Well your name is in the phone book" argument Most people don't run a reverse image search on every single image they happen to see on the Internet unless they've been told they have some reason to do so

And posting a picture on your profile and then affirmatively Tweeting at someone about one of the people on your picture means doesn’t preserve an unwritten “you’re not allowed to comment about my publicly facing pictures”commandment

You really don't see the issue with tweeting out an image of an anonymous person who whistleblew you and saying, "This is the face of they who scorned me,"?

First, no, she didn't, but that is the situation you just seemingly described as acceptable. Second, again, what's the difference? What's the difference between pointing to a nearby picture and saying, "Here she is," and pointing to a far away picture and saying, "Here she is."

Ah, okay, so if I'm granted anonymity after my resignation that applies only unless I make the MP really mad, or someone associated with me makes the MP mad Guess whistleblowing doesn't exist anymore then

Shit, this isn't even the only time Duffield piped up earlier about the other staffer who quit, the one who accused her of homophobia, saying she had a right of reply to the accusations -- a reply that outed the staffer's location and occupation

Literally going "Oh, she acts like it was so homophobic of me to assume she and another lesbian knew each other, een though she [works in a profession where lesbians stereotypically congregate] in [town small enough for people to know each other]" Classy fucking move, Rosie

Talking to you is exhausting and unproductive, especially as you jump 100 feet down the road as I’d I said things I didn’t and it takes too long to try to wind it back up to actually get to what I said.
