Yes, and most people who know what a reverse image search is know partly because they've had to protect themselves from stalking and harassment Like the female staffer Duffield just put a target on

Target? By the MP??? They resigned in protest! Pink news wrote an article about them! Their friend reached out publicly to the MP with the Resigner’s picture in their profile and the MP noted that fact in the same medium! Your ire is misplaced.

Yes Being an MP vs being a staffer is an asymmetrical relationship, in which the MP has an immense amount of privilege and power Anonymity clauses are designed, among other things, specifically to protect whistleblowers

Duffield's complaints that this is "unfair" and that she shouldn't have to just take it when she's being trashed online without being able to trash the little people back is a vivid demonstration of why she's unfit for office

The thing is if this exact scenario had played out with a female staffer resigning from the office of a male MP because of sexism you would never in a million years be talking about the MP's right to defend himself or carping about what counts as true retaliation

“If the sexes were reversed” is such a weak argument. You’re arguing against me for arguing at all, not my argument.

I'm arguing against you for defending an MP who's come under investigation from the union for abusing their staff! Jesus Christ

Don't say "abuse", name the offense. Rape in an "abuse", threatening violence is an "abuse", what is the abuse you're referring to here? Be specific.

Retaliation against whistleblowers by revealing their identity so people can go after them is very clear abuse

That's a very serious accusation, if true than Duffield should be arrested and charged with incitement to violence. Will you ask your contact to call the police and file a report, this is a hate crime matter that goes way beyond the jurisdiction of unions?

Ah, so now we're moving onto "Why didn't you just call the cops then" How very familiar

People's understanding of workplace protections and the law are so profoundly terrible. Even if an employer is being horrible to you in a way that is dangerous, it might still be legal. I found that out the hard way.

Usually people who say "Why don't you call the cops?" know very well that the cops are snidely dismissive of most of the complaints they get, that's why they're saying it
