Yeah, this is the thing for me. If you have effectively a serial killer who doesn't remember their serial killing... They're still a serial killer. And presumably willingly taking the drug. At *best*, force them into rehab. At worst, life in prison. Depends on the specifics.

Aside from the punishing of bad acts it’s also legitimate to look at justice issues from the perspective of defending the public from harm, and there too “I was drunk” fails as a defense without a commitment to sobriety.
