Dr. Ellie Lockhart. Republic serial villain. Retweeted Erin, on the side of caution

I mean, the other issue here, and one that is admittedly perhaps rendered a little unclear by, again, side lore that isn't really in the main dialogue, is that Abby and Ellie are notably roughly morally equivalent actors, but *not everyone is*https://twitter.com/CalliopeAnim/status/1314977117373968385 …

I know that, in the real world, people who actually want me dead are 100% convinced that their cause is righteous. That does not fill me with sympathy for them. I can perhaps lament what brought them to that point, but beyond that...

I’d dispute even that, honestly. I’m sure Abby -believes- she’s justified.

Yeah Abby is undeniably the worst person in terms of actions, it's just that the game gives her a convenient morality pet to protect.

Yeah I'm gonna hard disagree there. She doesn't do anything that Ellie didn't also do with the same provocation. And the only person we actually SEE her torture is the person who actually did do the horrible thing to her, as opposed to a random bystander

No she absolutely does. Abby starts events, Abby's whole murder and torture quest relies on betrayal of someone who just saved her life, and beyond that she is just genuinely kind of a crummy person. Saving a trans kid does not redeem any of that.

Even if she didn't save Lev, she tortured and killed one guy because he killed her dad Ellie tortured and killed how many people because Abby killed her dad? WAY more

The overwhelming majority of people that Ellie kills, I would note, are already trying to kill her. I mean, she’s not morally spotless, but she’s not blindsiding people who don’t mean her any harm.

She invades their territory first though, they kept their promise not to come back to Jackson

They came to Jackson -in the first place-. “Letting her live” and “not coming back and killing more people” are not points in their favor.

Yeah I'm just saying, from their POV their future violence against Ellie was all self-defense

Sure, but like I said earlier: everyone thinks they’re justified from their own POV. Before she even has the chance to do anything to them, they’re gonna torture and murder her, so, yknow. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

I mean a lot of it is Owen's fault. "We're gonna traumatize this girl in a morally abhorrent quest for vengeance, but *We're better* than killing her too. This surely will not come back to bite us in the ass."
