I grew up in a drive-in, my grandparents ran it. Steamed up windows made SO MUCH money for the Jimmy Fund because you kept tapping on the window with the can until folding money got put in there.

they where still peaking in the early 60s and didn't really start to decline heavily until sprawl and multiplexes became a thing in the 70s, thats when they switched over to showing grindhouse movies and porn.

They were pretty active in the 70s and I've been to a drive-in in the early 2010s with lots of families and their kids present to watch a transformers film and Thor.

Are you kidding? I saw Batman & Robin, Spiderman, and Godzilla at a Drive-In. They were the bees knees... until you fell asleep in the car.
