It's one of those zombie backlash things, I think Like everyone who gets all self-righteous like "People who don't own furniture don't deserve to live" *thinks* they're striking back against a movement that says "People who get rid of furniture are spiritually enlightened"

But I never, ever actually see anyone expressing the latter sentiment for real It's a giant strawman pinata Like if someone in the world actually thinks that and thinks people who own too much stuff are "materialistic" and "shallow" etc they sure as fuck aren't on Twitter

Anyway it actually is very important to me, for deep psychological reasons, to feel like if I had to I could pack everything I own in the world into a car and drive into the sunset and vanish

This isn't really because of actually being afraid I'll have to flee from people trying to kill or arrest me Although it isn't 100% *not* that, given the weird shit that's happened to me over the past several years

I just wish people would be respectful that other people have different desires and needs It's not like I'm asking you to live with me

You're better off than I am. I see a new toy or game and I'm like "ooh, shiny!" After replaying Bioshock 2, I stalked Ebay for WEEKS to find a big sister figure that wasn't over $150... I just thought they were neat and really liked Eleanor. Managed to get one for $50.

New, in package. Granted, it wasn't Eleanor herself, but the sculpting on Bioshock figures never gets the faces right anyway.

Some people are so weird. Why is it somehow political how you choose to furnish your life? Do they imagine you sneak around at night like some cartoon villain stealing other people's furniture and sacrificing it in dark rituals?

I am very much the opposite, and you can borrow a tool or utensil if you need something. I have far more things than I need, and it's okay. You might occasionally need a something, and that's okay, too.
