Saw on FB a discussion among evangelical Republicans that they're waiting to vote until Election Day because if Trump dies they're definitely voting for Pence but otherwise they're in a quandary I'm ok with this

In a presidential election, because it's actually an election for a slate of pledged electors under the banner of a given party rather than an actual direct vote for a candidate, there's no constitutional barriers to this The GOP can just say all Trump votes are now Pence votes
-
In this case, if Trump dies, there's a pretty high chance they'll just fuck Pence over, looking at the chatter from Team Trump Like there's no actual rule Pence would be the candidate in the November election, they could just keep him the VP candidate and put Ivanka in above him

The write-in scenario is an interesting thought exercise at least - the ballots will say Trump no matter what, they're already printed. But if the official nominee at that point is Pence (or Ivanka, Satan or whoever) would write-in votes for that person be added to the GOP total?
