Okay but he didn't take hydroxychloroquine -- he took a very expensive experimental drug no one else has access to, that will probably get credited for his recovery if he did make a full recovery And if it were fake it would only hurt his story to have been hospitalized at all

As I said... not the details, the broad strokes.

I am saying that the "details" that are different are the ones that make it tremendously unlikely it's a hoax, because they would be directly harmful to the message the hoax would be trying to convey There'd be no reason to be get in the damn helicopter and go to the hospital

Except if you wanted to create more
#TrumpTheater in order to make the narrative that the virus isn't serious, that the drugs absolutely work, that everything is fine, and that the MSM is 100% lying.... from that perspective, it makes PERFECT sense to hoax.3 replies 0 retweets 5 likes -

Well no, if that were the idea you could just... not go to the hospital If you wanted to show Trump got the virus and was fine, he could just... act like he was fine

But then nobody would buy the con. Come on, you gotta think like a con artist!

Okay, then why did he break FDA rules and get the experimental drug How does that help "sell the con", it's wildly expensive and risky, possibly illegal, and dominated the headlines about the story

I hate how Trump has actually broken people's brains like this, like he could literally be dead and be getting buried in the ground and people would be like "That's how you sell the con, you gotta think like a con artist"

Again... 3/8 of the country fall for his stuff. It's a "divide and conquer" thing. He doesn't care about people like you and I. He cares about stronger division away from the rest. Cult-like behavior. Overselling the con. Yes. Con artists do that.

Yes, you are using logic that says that absolutely anything Trump does could be a hoax in order to gin up loyalty from his followers because "bizarre and off-putting behavior is its own reward" I think this may be true up to a point but is in fact not worth thinking about

Again, this kind of thing is demoralizing to the opposition more than anything else "You can't criticize anything he does because if you say it makes him look bad that just makes his fans like him more!" Man shut the fuck up

If he really does have fans who will like him no matter what he does, then I don't care about their opinion, and I will carry on acting like they don't exist, because that's the game-theoretical rational course of action That's math
