How does sending him off in a helicopter support that narrative? All outward signs indicate that Trump is taking the disease quite seriously, or at least way more seriously than he would if he were trying to sell the disease being weak.

The way it works is: "OMG, the virus!" reaction. Then a "Look, all is well! The virus isn't even serious." It's a shell game, and a rather convincing con, not unlike a few of the ones PT Barnum famously pulled.

It can't possibly work that way because even if Trump makes a full recovery everyone will remember that he did so by taking an extremely expensive experimental drug that he only got because he's the President

Like, if the whole thing were a "hoax", they would just leave out that detail If it were a hoax then he can't possibly have REALLY used the drug -- who the fuck would actually inject experimental chemicals into themselves for a hoax?! -- so why the hell would you write that in

If you had the power to just make shit up then why wouldn't you just say it was hydroxychloroquine That would literally be the obvious perfect ending to the story, but it's not there, it's missing

You're thinking too much like someone who gives a damn. He doesn't. And I'm sorry for upsetting you. It's really obvious to me that the point is lost on you. I'll stop.

I know he doesn't give a damn, which is why he would not go to the effort to set up any kind of "hoax" If he disrupts his daily routine enough to fucking go to the hospital, it's because he had no other choice but to go to the hospital

Motivation, man. You gotta think about incentive. You're missing the point, because you're thinking too much like a real person.

Everything you say is a thought-terminating cliche that doesn't really mean anything

I mean, Trump is an idiot, so of course he's likely to sometimes do things that make no sense But going to the hospital to pull off a hoax not only makes no sense, it's also REALLY UNPLEASANT AND INCONVENIENT FOR HIM So there actually isn't any plausible incentive to do it

It does NOT make him look strong or make him look like he was right about COVID-19, it makes him look weak and foolish and like all his enemies have been proven right

His fans, of course, can twist it around in their head to make him look good no matter what happens But they could ALSO have twisted it around in their heads to make him look good if he DIDN'T go to the hospital So their opinion doesn't actually matter

*Trump trips and falls down a flight of stairs and faceplants into the ground, blood gushing everywhere from his broken nose* You, a politically savvy brain genius: "What you fail to understand is Trump's base will always find a way to turn this narrative to their advantage"
