the thing that just leaps out to me from the comments is how everyone is like "but can i also see this from the point of view of [another wizard]" and literally nobody is like "i want to see a luna pov story"

(and then the fic author responds with "eh, that probably isn't practical given the limitations of obliviate" WTFFF)

That's a bit unfair, IMO. The author leads with "this fic is about hard realities and that's not remotely what this fic is about", and only then goes into "plus, RL ethically and in-universe practically your idea is some bullshit". You do have to be careful with reviewers.pic.twitter.com/qIHu8axm16

Yeah considering that the author's current PFP has the asexual pride flag superimposed over it, probably fair to say that this author genuinely appreciates the seriousness of the subject they wrote about

Yes I think the reviewer doesn't actually realize that Lily's trauma isn't specifically related to "the divorce" but *her entire life preceding the divorce*, the basic fact that she is a Squib in the Wizarding World You'd have to Obliviate her entire life

Now I'm thinking of an extreme darkfic of the Harry Potter equivalent of those black-comedy jokes about "amnestic overdose" in the SCP wiki A Squib who was just too much trouble to take care of so they tried to "compassionately" Full-Obliviate them and dump them at a truck stop

Nandor (clearly agitated and disappointed Benjy didn't end up institutionalized for the rest of us life): "Yes, yes, that's a great industry"
