Dexamethasone is indeed pretty turbo. It's the atom bomb of steroids. Which is why when your immune system is trying to kill you (++ungood COVID) it helps. But if your immune system is still helping (mild COVID) it hurts.

I've only ever been on short courses of methylprednisolone when I get sick and my asthma goes haywire, and even that makes me hyper as all get out and sends my ADHD into overdrive.

As an adult, was put on it when my hemoglobin dropped below what would be a normal level for an infant. Saved my life but also caused pulmonary embolii and shot my weight up by over 100lbs.
