Exactly yeah. They act all high and mighty aboug Squibs, but the books are all about how "mudblood" are the good ones.

"The aristocratic families who remained endogamic and pure became stagnant and inbred and started breeding degenerate failsons while those which accepted a reasonnable amount of new, diverse blood kept their dynasty strong" is not much of a progressive argument.

I haven't watched Fantastic beast 2, but from what I understood the ""villain"" is trying to prevent world war II? and somehow, he's going about it "the wrong way"? JKR's world building is shit because she can't create a magical society without retconning the 20th century

iirc he shows everyone a prophecy of the atomic bomb, but then his plan is to be skynet and take over the world and enslave the muggles or w/e, so the premise is that they have to stop him bc he's worse than hitler it's, not good

Maybe fact that Slytherin is STILL a house years after Voldemort says a lot. Also the fact it's still a house after it was discovered the actual guy Slytherin put a giant snake in the school to kill Muggles.

Slytherin has *always* bothered me. Like, how fucked up does your society have to be that apparently about one fourth of them wind up in Designated Villain House and everyone else just shrugs and says "oh, you know, tradition."
