I.e. the premise of DARE is that there were totally happy content well-adjusted kids who were "seduced" and "brainwashed" into becoming addicts by sinister "drug pushers" And therefore you needed anti-drug propaganda to counteract the pro-drug propaganda everywhere

Captain Marvel is telling a certain set of stories, and some of the people who put movie into getting the movie made wanted it to just tell a story that "the Air Force is awesome", just like a movie with Beats by Dre headphones in it is trying to get you to buy those headphones
-
But that's not all it is, and for many people likely not even the main thing it is Like I personally seriously doubt Captain Marvel materially moved the needle on Air Force recruitment (*especially* because the "Girl Power" backlash swamped all discourse about the movie)

I feel like your point here is very obvious and I don't understand the compulsion to paint you as a lib feminist MCU stan. Unless you think that's the only kind of person who would defend that movie.

The thing is I've come to kind of hate the MCU at this point and I think Captain Marvel would be much better as a standalone movie -- all the MCU stuff harms it As pointed out, the business with Nick Fury's pager slightly undermines the ending just for the sake of continuity
