I am fine with saying that what a movie's plot and dialogue and themes say is often very different from what a movie's moment-to-moment imagery says, and that since cinema is a visual medium the latter is often more important But that doesn't negate the former

If anything, part of what prompts that scene is that T'Challa sees that his ancestors did his cousin dirty, because they didn't respect their own family-oriented teachings Which I think is a v valuable and important message for the black communities at least in the US
