Okay, fine I think her use of "Alohomora", to anyone who actually knows what it means and where it comes from (which is a regrettably small minority), is cringey and awkward as hell I think that that's a generally shitty thing to do to minority cultures from other countries

not gonna lie, all I read was "A very, very, very small number of people are disgruntled so now I'm mad." Doesn't fuckin' matter where they're from, it's like, 100,000 people. out of like 9,876,543,210 people.

riteuriguess, if that's what you read ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ However, I do enjoy someone else saying "amirite." I've been saying that for like 15 years now lol, unrelated real talk.

I don't think it's a simple question. For instance, as an extreme case, suppose the group it was hurtful to consisted of one person? Would it be something we avoided as assiduously as something affecting billions?

The hilarious thing is the plot of JK Rowling's novel The Silkworm is this meta thing about an asshole writer who uses his latest novel as an opportunity to cruelly mock a bunch of individuals in his life he personally dislikes

And the novel, while it does not particularly portray these people in a favorable light -- he exposes all their foibles and shortcomings in a cruelly accurate way that makes them look like assholes -- does portray this as understandable grounds for murder
