That's really what should've been the beginning of people noticing the flaws in her character honestly Like yeah okay she has a right to an opinion on the Scottish independence issue but her POV is obviously wildly different from that of the average Scottish citizen

And for her to put her thumb on the scales *that hard* and to go *that hard* against independence advocates using the full power of her celebrity and the fans who hang on her every word It was a very, very... not-nice thing to do

She was... so sure of the righteousness of the cause, like keeping the UK together was just obviously correct and Scottish Independence was the equivalent of being a wizard Nazi who wants to enslave Muggles and torture people and shit And the facts do not support this, at all

No, JK Rowling has never worked in a service job You have it reversed, when she was on welfare benefits and writing the Harry Potter manuscript she was a frequent *customer* at various diners and cafes in Edinburgh, because she needed to get out of the house to write

She also went on a weird anti-Nicola Sturgeon (the Scots First Minister), anti-tax rant one Christmas, to the meter of "The Night Before Christmas"
-
I remember the Night Before Christmas parody, it was very bad and very mean
