Why is it so important to sign a letter condemning all the threats and curse words etc JKR got and not Donald Trump? He gets a lot of abuse on social media, I can show you right now, does that not count as abuse

Why does my neighbor support a charity for stray cats when there are starving human beings in the world? Get their accountant to tell them off post-haste!

Are the stray cats - successfully - fighting against the legal rights of a marginalized population? Then yeah, I have a problem with anyone leaving kibble for those cats

Oh no Arthur, now you’re back to ‘that abuse is ok because of what she said’. Do make your mind up, please. It is so hard to keep track of whether you are an pretty unpleasant person or not. I'm not changing my stance at all here I think it's "not okay" as in it's a bad, negative thing Is it "okay" or "acceptable" in the sense that I'm willing to accept that it happened and am not moved to speak or act against it? Yup, absolutely, I plead guilty

Oh, another scarecrow? No problem that you don’t feel moved to complain. That is not a point I have made. You have decided that anyone else saying, sufficiently publicly, that this abuse is bad is a terrible person because they should work their way down your list. Poor cats.

Yes, because they're not really speaking against abuse, they're speaking in favor of JKR's position, which is evil

It's either that they agree with what she said or they don't quite agree but they think "Jo doesn't deserve to be abused because she's famous and she's my friend" Either position is despicable

It's almost certainly the latter. It's part of how the UK does petty corruption that it doesn't recognise as corruption. It's a deeply nepotistic society that runs on the idea that if someone from outside your "circle" attacks a member of it, you close ranks.

It's celebrity class solidarity, yes, and it deserves to get all the scorn and bile from non-celebrities it's getting

It runs through the UK at every level. It's a nasty, insular, spiteful little country through and through.
