As a general rule, I'm incredibly hyposensitive If the temperature or humidity in the room is not comfortable, other people will notice it before I do. If something is too loud, other people will ask to turn it down. If it's too spicy, somebody else will remark on it, not me

(As one might imagine, this characteristic can occasionally cause me to come into conflict with autistic people, who are frequently the opposite)

This is why I never serve to people food I've prepared myself I don't think of myself as having "bad" tastes or being a "bad" cook but my own preferences are idiosyncratic and my "good enough" tends to be a whole lot lower than other people's, especially stuff re: texture

in general I feel kind of weird about it Like maybe I've never, like, 'REALLY had a good cup of coffee, mannnnn', and maybe I'll never be able to truly savor one when it comes my way But instant coffee is cheap and fast, and I can't really notice how much it tastes like shit

idk there's a lot of ways that my ADHD has left me feeling like I am perfectly suited to my environment of not really having access to a lot of fine commodities or agency like my ability to uncritically swig instant coffee is an advantageous trait among subterranean humans

Smiling Jack: "Well, there's always rats around if you need a quick top-up in an emergency. I wouldn't rely on them, though" *bites rat, gets +3 blood points instead of one* "Ha! I forgot, sewer scrounging comes natural to a Nos! Like eczema"

(It's actually pretty easy to get through the game rarely if ever feeding on humans outside of combat, as a Nosferatu By Bloodlines rules anyway they really are, ironically, the least evil clan Although it's very natural to RP the urge to bite pretty humans out of spite)

probably the weirdest thing about Nosferatus in Bloodlines is that, textually, the player should not already look as bad as they do even by the end of the timespan the story takes place over, but they make it to god-tier ugliness in a single night

the P&P rules kinda work like that too since your appearance is zero from the start.

yeah, but the written assumption is that most chronicles won't start with any character's First Night beyond maybe a brief prelude

Yeah okay but in the case of a Nosferatu, the initial evolution into their deformed appearance involves a lot of debilitating pain and convulsions as their bones reshape themselves Even in Bloodlines it's pretty safe to assume we just skipped past all that, like we do daytime

yeah that's fair, I guess personally I always fanwanked that the brevity of it was evidence that the player character was extremely low-generation
