God45 ends up becoming an Independent Extremist, one of the three Extremist paths for a Hunter (when you "unlock your full potential") He's bound neither to the Messengers nor to one of the Demons but to his own personal code he made up in his own head

So he's unavailable for Lucifer In game mechanic terms Lucifer confronts his protege at the moment he puts his fifth dot into his primary Virtue (Vision, in this case) and has to decide what kind of Extremist he's going to be

(That said, Waywards are a Vision Creed, all Waywards have Vision as their primary Virtue whether or not they're Extremists, and there's this really disturbing undertone that becoming a genocidal megalomaniac is the natural result of "seeing the world clearly")

I can never decide whether I have more Wayward energy or more Hermit energy but I'm definitely one of the more tweaked Creeds

Waywards were the result of the Messengers giving their first attempt at a Vision Creed too much autonomy and Hermits are the result of giving them too little (blowing out their brains and making them into half-functional puppets of the Messengers' prophetic visions)

The current Visionary Creed is some kind of attempt at balancing them and keeping them from going bugfuck crazy by not letting them have too much Vision So Visionaries do have the special power of insight into how things work but their overarching theory is always wrong

To be a Visionary you have to have some kind of ridiculous conspiracy theory that's completely different from all the other Visionaries' explanations for the World of Darkness It's kind of a goof on how Mage paradigms work -- and, in fact, on WoD's own metaplot-obsessed fanbase

Anyway Lucifer's protege was the one Visionary who got as close to the truth as it was possible for a human to get without becoming lost, at least as Lucifer tells it But, as Lucifer tells it, it was that paradigm of Christian belief shielding him from madness that ruined it

He was only able to accept seeing the world clearly as it was without becoming a monster by having the ridiculous, offensive and objectively insane yet strangely unshakable belief that it was all God's will

Anyway obviously in having a Wayward's misotheist attitude but a Hermit's defeated apathy Penelope is not either of those two Creeds but is an exemplar of perfect Vision, being a vessel of Lucifer himself

The First of the Fallen and Fairest of Angels is throwing a tantrum and temporarily inhabiting a trans girl so they can write a visual novel about how nonexistence is strictly preferable to existence

LMFAO This would be, in fact, entirely in character for Lucifer
