his own desire to have children above the biological optimum for babies and children. The fact that feminism is pointing this out to you, a gay man, is an exact example of why women often go back to the importance of breastfeeding and why men are perhaps not great feminists.

Amazing, it's the 21st century, so gay men get to endure the same round of disgusting personal attacks from strangers that all the "selfish, materialistic career women" who didn't breastfeed 30 years ago did Ha ha ha Fuck

When I was a kid, in the 80s, it was possible for women to publicly complain about breastfeeding, even say they didn't want to do it Breastfeeding vs formula was a "cost/benefit analysis" that was openly discussed Now you can't breathe a word of that without public shaming

I mean, it also wasn't legal to breastfeed in public & Nestle pushed formulae so it could get rich, so the changes haven't been all bad. But these people are using it as an excuse to attack unconventional families, so fuck them.

God, the shit that people get for even *supplementing* with formula is *amazing.* It doesn't even have to be, "I only use formula," but "I also use formula," and the flipping out begins.

No, there's also milk donation/purchasing. This is so ridiculous.

So if Cohen were able to get donor milk through a milk bank, or the surrogate (or someone else) were able and willing to act as a wet nurse, you'd shut the fuck up and get off his back? I'm skeptical

I can't tell if the anti-surrogacy brigade is now arguing for or against wet nurses.

This is not complicated. If you think surrogacy isn't a major ethical problem, you don't know any surrogates.
