(Ironically if you've read the summary of the actual paper by Kenneth Arrow about the Impossibility Theorem one of the stipulations he has for a voting system is "non-dictatorship" Obviously the mathematical problems he talks about only exist with multiple voters who disagree)

And if they try to argue that having more people pick makes it better... Then why not just do a direct vote? The electoral college is a bodged together compromise, the same way that one house has 2 senators per state and the other house has reps based on population.
