Honestly you know what, I will say I liked Alan Moore's use of Mycroft a lot, including Mina and Allan being somewhat realistically shitty about his weight "Well, at least we finally know what happened to the Great Detective... His brother ate him" legitimately made me laugh

Because, well, that's a joke Allan (IIRC) tells because he knows Mycroft owns all their asses and there's nothing they can do about it

The books do comment on his weight but I honestly cannot tell if they're fat jokes or just descriptive. Enola is not inclined to be favorable toward him through most of the series, which colors it

So, so many Sherlock Holmes adaptations... and yet only the absolutely brilliant Jeremy Brett one has ever seemed bothered about bringing the actual characters in the books to life.

IIRC Robert Morley played Mycroft in A Study in Terror (1965) -- which is maybe closer to the books (Morley was a least plump, though he was maybe more energetic than I think Mycroft was in the stories).
