Just a couple days ago I was thinking about how conservatives view the founding fathers as "our guys", and like, if there was a way to ressurect them I think they would be disgusted by modern conservatives as much as they would by leftists.

I think there's a saying about ants not being able to notice the difference between being stepped on by a person and an elephant. Conservatives and leftists are so fundamentally different than them that they probably wouldn't be able to tell them apart very well.

I've been learning a ton on prison abolition the last few years, and this kind of thinking dominates it. We can add on racing stripes, but the fundamental premise that it's the role of the state to decide who bad people are and hurt them for it can't be challenged,
