No no... Let's go along with their neanderthal logic. If people weren't poor we wouldn't need to budget for as much law enforcement. So if re-direct that police spending by just giving poor people money, food, services... that wouldn't be a problem. that would be... a solution.

Moore's take was a spectacularly loaded one. Not only are there many crimes that go unnoticed and/or unpunished, but I'd wager the percentage that do skews decidedly in favor of the wealthy.

also... this is kind of an incel argument in itself. "rich guys get the girls because they only care about money and don't have to do what we do."

Poor people commit different crimes that are easier to catch (smash a car window vs. embezzlement). Poor people also commit the same crimes but are still easier to catch (neighbors corroborate DV in a high density apartment complex with thin walls but cant in McMansions)

Also poverty is criminalized 30% of women convicted in the UK where convicted of not paying their TV licence. Parole violations unlicensed or uninsured vehicles all poverty related.https://www.refinery29.com/en-gb/2019/07/237240/tv-licence-evasion-women …

They're just conflating "more likely to commit crime" with "more likely to be arrested and be imprisoned" for no good reason but classicism.
